Southern California Hospitals at Culver City and Hollywood rank among the top three in California for Gastrointestinal Care according to a new analysis released by Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients. Additionally, SCH at Culver City and Hollywood rank in the top five in California for Pulmonary Care and rank among America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Pulmonary Care Award recipient.

To determine this year’s state ranking recipients, Healthgrades evaluated clinical performance for nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide focusing on 18 key specialties across a mix of chronic, urgent, and surgical specialty areas. SCH at Hollywood and Culver City also received the America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Care in 2023.

“This recognition by Healthgrades is a well-deserved affirmation of the hard work, skill, and dedication of our physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, as well as their commitment to providing our patients safe, quality care,” said Omar Ramirez, Interim Chief Executive Officer at SCH-Culver City.

“As these outstanding rankings confirm, patients who come to our hospital receive nationally recognized, quality care, close to home, provided by dedicated caregivers who are committed to meeting the healthcare needs of our communities,” said Luis Angel, Administrator at SCH-Hollywood.

Hospitals recognized as among the top five in their state by Healthgrades are providing patients with consistently better-than-expected clinical outcomes. Patients treated at hospitals receiving a state ranking for pulmonary care have, on average, a 53.4 percent lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that were not ranked for Pulmonary Care.*

“Being recognized as one of the top three in California for Gastrointestinal Care and top five in California for Pulmonary Care is a tremendous achievement that speaks to Southern California Hospitals at Hollywood and Culver City’s ongoing commitment to high-quality care," said Dr. Brad Bowman, chief medical officer and head of data science, Healthgrades. “Hospitals receiving #3 and #4 rankings in their state have a proven track record of delivering superior outcomes for the patients in their community."

Dr. Bowman continued, "For almost 25 years, our mission has been to provide consumers with clear and accessible information to make more informed healthcare decisions. Patients can feel confident knowing that they have access to top-ranked care for gastrointestinal and pulmonary care at Southern California Hospitals at Hollywood and Culver City.”

In October, SCH-Hollywood and Culver City were also recognized by Healthgrades with these additional clinical achievements:
