Thanksgiving 2025

Giving Thanks for the many blessings this past year! Thanksgiving stands as one of the most American holidays, an autumn ritual fixed in tradition and honor of the nation's earliest arrivals during colonial days. Thanksgiving celebrations in America may be directly traced to the European settlers offering prayers for survival and thanksgiving after their journey to America.

 

Thanksgiving has been described in history as a feast of lobsters, clams, bass, corn, vegetables, dried fruits and the favorite wild turkeys. 

 

President Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving as a nation holiday in 1863, though the holiday had previously been celebrated. Today, Thanksgiving is often celebrated with an extra dose of parades and college football after the traditional meal that has now added pumpkin pie, cranberries and stuffing to its course. But, no matter how the holiday is celebrated, most still consider it as a day to be reminded to give thanks for the many blessings of health, happiness and family and friends.
